Lansing-Area Girls Basketball Top 10 Poll (As of February 15th)
This week's girls basketball poll is a day late this week as I felt it was inappropriate to post a Top 10 poll yesterday in light of what happened at Michigan State on Monday night.
A top 10 poll, while important and a point of pride for the communities and teams that make it, isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things. We were reminded of that again on Monday night (while many high school games were still going on).
But we do soldier on. And with this poll being on a Wednesday, we have two more days of results to take into account when compiling this poll.
Congratulations to Dansville for clinching a share of the CMAC title with Tuesday night's overtime win at Fowler. Congrats are also in order for Haslett and Olivet for clinching shares of the CAAC Red and GLAC titles, respectively, in the last week.
Olivet and Dansville will clinch outright league titles if they win on Thursday. Haslett will clinch the outright title in the CAAC Red if they win over St. Johns on Friday.
Some other games of note for the rest of this week:
On Wednesday, 16-2 Holt is at undefeated Flint Carman-Ainsworth. On Thursday, Olivet hosts Lakewood while Dansville is at Portland St. Patrick.
While on Friday, Haslett is at St. Johns and Ovid-Elsie is at Chesaning. And on Saturday, P-W hosts state power Ypsilanti Arbor Prep, Waverly hosts Benton Harbor, Grand Ledge is at Brighton, and unbeaten Haslett is at Rockford.
Ok, on with this week's poll:
