Lansing-Area Girls Basketball Regional Matchups
There are eight Lansing-area girls basketball teams still alive after the district phase of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) girls basketball state tournament.
You can find all the regional brackets statewide here
The big surprise is that Haslett, who won the CAAC Red, and finished the regular season at 21-1 isn't one of them. The lady Vikings were upset by a red-hot Lansing Catholic team in the district finals last Saturday afternoon 54-42 at Eaton Rapids HS.
The best individual performance of the district phase was by Holt senior center Janae Tyler. All she did last Saturday night was score 33 points, pull down 21 rebounds, and block five shots in the Rams 63-45 victory over Jackson Northwest at Mason HS.
But now there are eight. And they'll start regional play on Tuesday night. Here are the matchups involving area teams:
DIVISION 1 @ COLDWATER HS
DeWitt vs. Kalamazoo Central - 5:30p
Holt vs. Coldwater - 7:00p
DIVISION 2 @ COMSTOCK PARK HS
Portland vs. Grand Rapids West Catholic - 7:00p
DIVISION 2 @ FOWLERVILLE HS
Lansing Catholic vs. Tecumseh - 5:30p

DIVISION 4 @ PETERSBURG-SUMMERFIELD HS

All winners on Tuesday will advance to Thursday's regional championship games at the same sites listed. All regional final winners on Thursday move on to next Tuesday's state quarterfinals.
