Had this poll been done on Monday, it would've looked different.  But with Portland St. Patrick's surprising 51-45 victory over previously undefeated Ovid-Elsie on Monday night, that necessitated some changes.

With St. Pats' win, it puts them in the poll with their 6-2 record.  And with Ovid-Elsie's loss, it leaves only Bath (at 7-0) as the area's lone undefeated team.

The thing that sticks out at this point of the season is the depth of quality teams in the greater Lansing area.  Teams like CAAC Red leader Williamston (6-4), East Lansing (6-3), Mason (5-3), Laingsburg (5-2), Leslie (7-2), and Morrice (6-1) did NOT make the poll this week.

Monday's St Pats-Ovid-Elsie result notwithstanding, the game of the week was last Tuesday.  As defending Division 2 state champion Lansing Catholic throttled previously unbeaten Portland 62-34, to take the lead in the CAAC White.

Tuesday's top games feature Williamston at Holt, Laingsburg at Dansville, and P-W at unbeaten Bath.  Wednesday features only one game.  But it's a big one as 6-3 Haslett visits 8-1 DeWitt.

Thursday's action has Bath at Laingsburg, Dansville at Portland St. Patrick, and Mason at Williamston.

And on Friday, DeWitt is at East Lansing and Lansing Catholic is at Olivet.
