We all dream of finding that certain special someone to spend the rest of our lives with. To have and to hold, for richer or for poorer, 'til death do us part.

Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way.

There are countless reasons as to why couples decide to end their marriages. According to insider.com, the most common reason that couples choose to divorce is a lack of commitment. Infidelity and/or arguing are other common factors. Getting married too young is another common reason that's cited for electing to divorce, as are financial issues. Other less common (but no less important) reasons include substance abuse by one partner or the other, domestic violence, or health problems. It's not unheard of for couples to divorce because of a lack of support from the rest of their families or because of irreconcilable religious differences.

Sadly, sometimes people get divorced more than once. There are very few experiences that are more emotionally draining.

We were curious... what Mid-Michigan communities have the highest divorce rates? As we were digging into the data, we became curious as to which communities would show up with the lowest divorce rates as well. In addition to each area's individual divorce rates, we found out how they compare with other zip codes across the nation. After mining through the most recent data that could be found for 40 zip codes across Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties, here's what we discovered.
