We have played three full weeks of the boys basketball season in the state of Michigan.  And now is a good time to take stock as to what has happened so far.

To the surprise of some, there are only four area teams that are undefeated at this point.  They are DeWitt, Okemos, East Lansing, and Laingsburg.

Seven other teams have just one loss so far:  Everett, Mason, Charlotte, Portland, Perry, Pewamo-Westphalia, and Ovid-Elsie.

It was tough leaving out a couple of one-loss teams.  Everett and Portland just missed out.  And had Williamston beat Lansing Catholic last Tuesday night, they would've been in the first poll.

If you don't like where your favorite team is ranked, RELAX!!!  It's still pretty early in the season, and there's lots of games to be played.  It will shake out more when we get to the New Year.

And after all, as Saturday Night Live alum Dennis Miller once said:  It's only my opinion, and I could be wrong.

Some of the top games this week include:  Monday - 4-1 Charlotte @ 4-2 Stockbridge.  Tuesday - 6-0 Okemos @ 6-0 DeWitt and 3-0 East Lansing @ 3-1 Everett.  Wednesday: 5-0 Laingsburg @ 5-1 Perry and 4-2 Fowler @ 4-1 P-W.  And on Thursday:  Detroit Catholic Central is at Okemos, Williamston is at DeWitt, and Charlotte @ Ovid-Elsie.

We will have a pair of undefeated teams on our airwaves on Tuesday night.  6-0 Okemos visits 6-0 DeWitt in a CAAC Blue matchup.  Broadcast coverage on The Game 730 AM WVFN begins at 7:00pm (or thereabouts) with Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love.

Ok, on with the first rankings of the season:
