The final week of the regular season saw some buzzer beaters (East Lansing over Okemos and Grand Ledge over Haslett).  And we saw one of the two undefeated teams in the area lose as Olivet fell to Saline (no shame in that).

So that leaves CMAC outright champion Laingsburg as the area's only undefeated team (at 21-0).  And therefore, they are rated 1st in the area this week.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.  It's not really a question as to  "Would Laingsburg beat Olivet, Mason, or Waverly?"  They might not.  They also might not beat DeWitt or Grand Ledge, either.  But they're 21-0, and no other area team can say that.  So being ranked number 1 this week is their reward.  Congratulations to the Wolfpack!!!

But the state tournament starts on Monday night with district quarterfinal games.  In Division 1, Grand Ledge plays St. Johns and Everett goes against Jackson NW.  In Division 2, Portland faces Lakewood, Eaton Rapids plays Lansing Catholic, Sexton faces longtime arch-rival Eastern, Fowlerville takes on Haslett, and defending state champion Williamston will play Pinckney.

In Division 3, Bath plays Byron, Perry faces New Lothrop, Potterville plays Springport, and Saranac goes against Vermontville Maple Valley.  And finally, in Division 4, Portland St. Patrick faces Fulton and Morrice plays Webberville.

And our final high school broadcast of the season will be this coming Friday night for a district finals matchup.  Erik "Doc" Love will join Brock Palmbos with the call at 6:45pm.  And then Brock will recap the week that was in high school basketball with High School Rewind, which airs every Saturday morning during the season from 10am-11am.

BTW, these are the final boys basketball rankings of the regular season.  The last poll of the season will be posted the Monday after the state finals.

Ok, on with the rankings:
