Former Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins has been named to his first Pro Bowl as an alternate. Cousins will be replacing Aaron Rodgers on the NFC team according to the Washington Redskins.

The former Michigan State quarterback finished first in passing yards with 4,917 and had the seventh-highest qb rating with 97.2 in his second season as the full-time starter.

Cousins earned NFC Offensive Player of the Month in November following his 1,086 passing yards eight touchdowns and no interceptions in four games.

Of course it was going to take Rodgers missing the Pro Bowl for Cousins to earn his bed. He had a stellar season for Washington but Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers just played that much better.
