WWJ in Detroit is reporting that former Michigan State basketball player Keith Appling has been arrested outside of a Detroit nightclub on Sunday night.

Appling was arrested at the Pantheon Club with possession of a loaded assault rifle, possibly an AK-47. He is being held by Dearborn police without bond.

Appling, 24, played with the Orlando Magic for a brief spell in the NBA this season, he also played in the D-League with the Magic's affiliate the Erie BayHawks this season.

Appling played his college basketball at MSU from 2010-2014 averaging over 10 points per game in over 140 games played.
