Longtime Executive Director of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) John "Jack" Roberts announced his retirement from his post, effective this coming August, according to the MHSAA's website.

Roberts has been the head of the MHSAA since 1986, he has the second-longest tenure as Executive Director in the nearly 100 year history of the organization.

Roberts helped create the Women in Sports Leadership Conference in the late 1980's, and oversaw the addition of several varsity sports during his time (Competitive Cheer, 8-Man Football, etc).

Jack is only the fourth full-time Executive Director in the history of the MHSAA, following Charles Forsythe, Allen Bush, and Vern Norris.
