Thousands Of Michigan Cars May Be Part Of New Recall
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been rather busy these last few weeks with issuing recall notices.
Do you drive a Ford, General Motors, or Toyota vehicle?
If you do, continue reading because you need to know about all of the active recalls that have been announced between June 30th and July 6th.
Thousands Of Michigan Cars May Be Part Of New Recall
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the following vehicle recalls.
Did you know about these?
Toyota Recall
Toyota is officially recalling 11,418 of its vehicles. Why?
This Toyota recall is all about the head restraints on both, the driver and front passenger seats.
The head restraints may end up getting removed without you pressing the lock release button.
If the helmet is not securely fastened, it can come loose or detach, which can cause the risk of injury during a crash.
The following Toyota brand vehicles are affected by this recall:
- 2024 Lexus RX 350
- 2024 Lexus RX 350h
- 2024-2025 Lexus NX 250
- 2024-2025 Lexus NX 350
- 2024-2025 Lexus NX 350h
Toyota dealers are replacing the driver and front passenger seat headrest assemblies for free. The recall notification letters are set to be mailed out to customers on July 27th.
If you have questions or concerns, you can contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
But wait, there is more.
General Motors Recall
As for General Motors, the company is recalling 8,622 of two specific vehicles: 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.
What is the issue? The lock that secures the fuel pump to the fuel tank might not have been locked fully.
So, it could potentially cause a fuel leak to occur during a crash, which can increase the risk of a fire.
Dealers are set to inspect and fully lock the fuel tank lock ring for free for customers. The recall notification letters are going to be sent out on August 13th.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to Chevrolet's customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GM's customer service at (888) 988-7267.
There is still one more recall that I need to share.
Ford Recalls
The Ford company is no stranger to recalls this year. The company has reached the 34th recall that Ford has launched this year.
There are three active recalls for this company. However, this time, Ford is recalling 2,605 of its 2025 F-Super Duty F-650 and F-750 vehicles.
The manufacturer shared that the front axle tie rod may have ball studs that were heat-treated incorrectly.
Due to this incorrect heat treatment, it could cause them to break and potentially cause a tie rod failure. This could make the driver lose control of the steering wheel.
Ford is also recalling 4,361 of its 2024 F-150 vehicles because the windshield may not have been properly bonded with the truck.
Ford dealers are removing, replacing, and reinstalling the windshields for free.
As for the last Ford recall, the company is recalling 30,735 of its 2022-2023 Ford Mustang due to the secondary steering torque sensor not calibrating properly.
This issue can cause the steering wheel to turn side to side despite what the driver is actually doing.
The dealerships are set to update the power steering control module software for free.
