It was a great night for a couple of friends from Michigan who took home some serious cash and won a trip to Mexico on 'Wheel of Fortune.'

Who Were the Michigan Friends on 'Wheel of Fortune?'

Sheila Curlett and Katie Noiff played well, and played to win on the iconic game show's Girlfriend Getaways episode that aired Tuesday (10/8). Carlett and Nolff were introduced by host Ryan Seacrest as two friends that met because their husbands have been best friends for a couple of decades. Sheila admitted that they were a little nervous about meeting but discovered that they had an instant connection.

Katie noted that the couples love to double date, play golf, and root for Michigan football as the two put in a plug for the Wolverines with a big 'Go Blue!'

Friends Off to a Slow Start

Sheila and Katie weren't exactly hot coming out of the gate, missing the initial toss-ups and the round one puzzle. But they came on strong in round two, solving the 'Showbiz' themed puzzle. See if you could have gotten it.

That solve - My Favorite Romantic Comedy - netted the ladies $1,300, and propelled them to win round three as well. That solve means the couple are heading off on vacation to Mexico. The category here is 'Fun and Games' - see if you know what it is.

If you came up with 'Jumping on a Trampoline,' you're absolutely correct. After that solve, the ladies went on to score another $2,000 by solving one of the show's Triple Tossup puzzles, 'Baby Formula.'

That was enough to send Sheila and Katie to Wheel's Bonus Round, where they easily solved the puzzle. After Vanna White turned over the obligatory letters R, S, T, L, N, and E, the ladies added M, D, P, I, and H. That 'H' was a bonus consonant because they had won a Wild Card earlier in the show, and it very well may have made the difference between solving the puzzle and walking away without a bonus win.

There's an 'a ha' moment in the video below where you can see the ladies' faces light up, indicating they knew the puzzle. (My wife yelled the answer at the TV before the contestants realized what it was. She's taking full credit for helping them win.)

Congrats to Katie and Sheila! With the Bonus Round win, they walked away with a whopping $57,700.
