Police: Michigan Man Targeted Women with Unknown Liquid at Kroger
A Michigan man has been accused of following women around a Kroger store in Farmington Hills and somehow placing an unidentified liquid on their pants.
So far, two women have come forward. The first, who has not been identified, told authorities that on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, a man was following her closely inside the store. At one point, she felt a liquid substance on her backside. Ugh.
The woman reported the incident to Farmington Hills Police the following day. Authorities alerted Kroger employees, and get this - the man was back at the Kroger on 11 Mile and Middlebelt the following Monday, and did the same thing to another woman.
According to WXYZ, Deon Otis Grant, 20, of Southfield, was arrested on site and has been charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. However, he was released on a $10,000 personal bond.
Otis is due back in court on September 19th, 2025.
So what exactly was the 'liquid' that Grant was placing on the women? Good question. The victim's clothing was sent to a lab for testing. I will keep you updated if and when the results become public.
This incident is deeply disturbing and serves as a reminder of the importance of being aware of your surroundings at all times. The fact that something so invasive and inappropriate could happen in a seemingly safe and routine place, such as a grocery store, shows that these kinds of situations can occur anywhere. Whether you are shopping, walking to your car, or simply going about your daily life, it's crucial to remain alert and cautious.
