
Town-by-Town Mid-Michigan Snowfall Predictions for February 12-13

Winter Weather Advisories are up for most of Mid-Michigan beginning at 1pm Wednesday, February 12 and lasting until 7am on Thursday, February 13.
It's been a weird winter, even by Michigan standards. The greatest snowfall recorded in Lansing so far this winter was on December 20 when 4.5" fell, according to WILX News 10 Chief Meteorologist Darrin Rockcole.

Most forecasters believe that mark will be eclipsed this week in Mid-Michigan.
How Much Snow Does the National Weather Service Think We'll Get?
Forecasters with the National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids think the bulk of the snow will fall during the afternoon and evening on Wednesday, tapering off on Thursday.

The general consensus from the NWS is that everyone in Mid-Michigan will see at least 5" of snow from this system, and possibly as much as 7".
How Much Snow Does AccuWeather Think We'll Get?
AccuWeather meteorologists also believe that most accumulations will be around half a foot across Mid-Michigan, but are not ruling out the possibility for as much as 10" in some places.

Lesser amounts are likely across southern Mid-Michigan in cities like Marshall, Jackson, Stockbridge and Howell.

"Total snowfall accumulation of 4-6″ is likely in many spots. It is not out of the question to see some locally higher snowfall totals where heavier snow bands set up but the vast majority of Mid-Michigan will stay in the 4-6″ range," according to WILX News 10 Meteorologist Colton Cichoracki.
