A quick-moving early spring weather system could drop measurable snow on Mid-Michigan beginning Wednesday night through the first half of Thursday.

Depending on the forecast provider, areas from Ionia to Lansing to Williamston could see as much as two inches of accumulation, or it could be much ado about nothing.

The forecasters with AccuWeather are the ones who tend to think parts of Mid-Michigan could awaken Thursday with a decent covering of snow on the ground.
They're confident most Mid-Michigan towns will see snowfall accumulations in the 1-2" range, although they acknowledge not every town will see quite that much.

The National Weather Service believes rain will mix with or change to snow by late Wednesday evening, with possible accumulations on the order of a dusting to an inch y Thursday morning.

WILX News 10 Chief Meteorologist Darrin Rockcole thinks there'll be snowflakes in the air, but any accumulations will be negligible.
"Rain and snow passes through the area tonight. Temperatures tonight drop back close to freezing, so we could see some accumulating slushy snow late tonight into early Thursday morning," says Rockcole.
