A New Restaurant is Coming to Downtown East Lansing

The greater Lansing food scene is about to get a bit bigger. And even more delicious, for that matter.

Lansing has a pretty fantastic food scene as it is, but hey, the more the merrier. My stomach and I feel like there's always room for more restaurants to join the scene. Now, we have another one that's on it's way.

A Michigan-based chain restaurant is going to be opening the very first eatery of this kind in the Mid-Michigan area.

New Restaurants Opening in Lansing Area

You can look forward to Pizzawala's opening in East Lansing.

Pizzawala's got its start in Canton, and has since expanded to two other locations: Des Plaines, Illinois and Columbus, Ohio. They're also adding a New Jersey location and a Pennsylvania location soon too.

Pizzawala's blends Indian flavors and ingredients with pizza to create a unique combo. For example, here's the Butter Chicken Pizza.

This new location is going to be opening in Downtown East Lansing at 523 E Grand River Avenue.

With those familiar with the area, this is the old MSU Federal Credit Union location right next to The Peanut Barrel.

Pizzawala's serves up more than just pizza. They also offer wings and salad. And this location will offer some additional items, like pasta and some dessert. There will also be a bar.

A lot of work needs to be done to make the space work for the new restaurant. The Lansing State Journal spoke to the franchise owner, Sougata Roy, who hopes that the restaurant will be open this coming spring, by May 2025.
