JoAnn Fabrics plans to close more than three-quarters of its Michigan locations in 2025 as the company enters bankruptcy for the second time.
Only California and Florida will be losing more JoAnn locations than Michigan, as the company shutters more than 500 locations across the nation.

Unlike when some companies file bankruptcy, JoAnn doesn't plan to close all of its locations.
Which JoAnn Fabrics Stores in Michigan Are Staying Open?
For now, JoAnn Fabrics intends to continue to operate seven locations in Michigan, including the one on Lansing's west side.
Other JoAnn Fabrics locations that will remain operational in Michigan include ones in Grand Rapids, Livonia, Mt. Pleasant, Portage, Traverse City, and White Lake.

A statement from JoAnn Fabrics published by USA Today stated:
"This was a very difficult decision to make, given the major impact we know it will have on our Team Members, our customers and all of the communities we serve. A careful analysis of store performance and future strategic fit for the Company determined which stores should remain operating as usual at this time."
