5 of Michigan’s Most Fun Summer Jobs
With summer knocking on Michigan's door, that means there are going to be plenty of opportunities for those fun seasonal jobs.
Fun Summer Jobs in Michigan
Maybe you're a teenager looking for your first job now that school's ending? Or perhaps you're just looking to make some extra cash in a fun way? There are a few jobs in the Mitten State that will afford you a bit of extra excitement, whether it's in the form of the job itself, or the cool perks that it comes with.
Need a bit of inspiration? Here are five summer jobs that are pretty cool.
Camp Counselor
You essentially get to spend your summer in the picturesque places that you'd want to vacation in anyway... Northern Michigan, the Great Lakes, and the like. Plus, all the beaded macramé you can make!
Ice Cream Shop Employee
I can say with certainty (as a former ice cream shop employee, myself) this is one of the best summer jobs out there. Yes, they get terribly busy on the especially hot days. However, all the ice cream you can eat isn't a bad perk. Plus, who can be upset when they've got ice cream in their hands?
National or State Park Employee
If you are the outdoorsy type, this is certainly the job for you. Wanna go on a hike? Sure, they'll pay you to do that? Passionate about keeping our parks clean? Heck, they'll pay you to do that too. And the views ain't too bad.
Tour Guide
There are all kinds of tours one can take. An historical tour, a haunted tour, even a brewery or winery tour. Depending on your interests, you can go any route you want (see what I did there?). Bonus—sometimes you get tips!
Event Staff
You know what kind of events are in abundance during Michigan summers... outdoor concerts! And for obvious reasons, as Michigan's colder months can be far too brutal for something like that. But if you don't mind layering up with sunscreen and being on your feet, you'll essentially be paid to enjoy a concert. Win, win.
