National Breakfast Chain With a Dozen Michigan Locations Will Be Closing 150 Restaurants Nationwide
A popular breakfast chain restaurant in America is closing 150 location nationwide. Could that include Michigan?
Chain restaurants are really taking a hit this year, not just in Michigan, but across the country as well. Other chain restaurant closures we've seen this year include Hooters, Bucca de Beppo, Dickey's Barbeque Pit, and more.
Now, we have another chain restaurant to add to the list.
Popular Breakfast Chain Closing Locations Nationwide
Denny's has announced that they will be closing 150 restaurant locations across the nation.
As of December, Denny's had 1,586. Of those, they plan on closing 150 locations, which is about 9.5% of their locations.
They plan on choosing locations that are either " too old to remodel or are based in unprofitable locations."
Location Closures and Changes Coming to Denny's
Who's to say one of those locations couldn't be here in Michigan?
As of right now, there's no word on which locations will be closing their doors. But, we will see some close before the end of 2024, and the remainder closing sometime in 2025.

Currently, Michigan has 12 locations that could be on the chopping block; Battle Creek, East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kentwood, Lansing, Marshall, Saginaw, Taylor, Traverse City, and Wyoming.
Also, Denny's will no longer require locations to remain open 24/7; a popular aspect of the eatery. However, they said that after COVID-19, remaining open all day just wasn't profitable and didn't make sense.
