Bennett’s Beavers! A Quick Sunday Trip Can Gift Kids Toys
The 2023 Bennett's Beavers Car Show is coming up this Sunday, September 17th. Head to the car show to check out vintage vehicles and to help sick children. Have fun with the family while creating hope for others.
The mission of Bennett's Beavers is simple. They make toys for sick children in hospitals.
Bennett’s Beavers exists to “Improve the Lives of Hospitalized Children” and ensure that they have moments of positive recreation and a diversionary outlet from their illness and hospital stay.
When I was young I spent a lot of time at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, distractons were welcomed and it made me and other sick kids happy.
It takes volunteers and donations to make mission successful.
We do this by supplying hospitals, and certain other non- profit children’s organizations, with wood cutouts/figures that the children can paint and decorate for their own amusement and surroundings, or to present as gifts to loved ones and friends. We currently work with the staffs from 39 Hospitals and Camps in 41 locations in 17 states nationwide, providing over 50,000 pieces per year. We are open to establishing relationships with as many hospitals as our resources and capacity reasonably can accommodate, and do not discriminate on the basis of religious affiliation or any other factor.
There's nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a sick child. As parents and human beings it's natural to want to take the pain and fear away. Sometimes we aren't enough for our children and a wooden toy could be a game changer.
The charity car and truck show is this Sunday. There will be 40 tropies awarded and entertainment for the whole family. Check out the live DJ, score a goodie bag, win a door prize, get in on the 50/50 drawing and bake sale.
This amazing event is taking place from 10a - 3p at 9950 Hamburg Rd., Brighton MI 48116. If you'd like to display your car, do it! There's a $10 fee to enter. All proceeds support the mission of Bennett's Beavers.
