Michigan Recall: 17 Salad & Salsa Products Pulled for Salmonella Risk

Before you get ready to open that big bag of chips and crack open that jar of salsa, you might actually want to check some of the labels, as there is a major salsa recall currently going on here in the state of Michigan.

On top of that, the company is also recalling a ton of pre-packaged salads.

Why the Recall?

The recall affects 10 other states, like Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, and more. The Coastal Companies just initiated a recall on 17 salad and salsa products of theirs, with Fresh Start Cucumbers from Bedner Growers, due to a possible salmonella contamination.

There are currently no illnesses that have been reported to the consumption of these products; however, with the major cucumber recall going on right now, which has caused at least 26 cases of salmonella illnesses in 15 different states, the Food and Drug Administration is advising that you toss any of these products immediately.
