The Fenton Hotel Tavern & Grill in Genesee County is said to be one of the most haunted places in Michigan.

When the railroads first came through Fenton in 1856, the hotel was built to accommodate travelers and businessmen. Now, in the 2020s, the building has changed from a hotel to a restaurant, even though the “Fenton Hotel” sign remains.

As for the hauntings – and there appears to be many of them – a main one is of a man with a hat who sits at the bar drinking whiskey. He has even offered guests a free whiskey but then disappears. According to one visitor via Michigan Haunted Houses, "My wife and I had dinner last month, and a tall older gentleman offered us a shot of whiskey which we happily accepted. After he walked to the bar to order it he suddenly vanished right before our eyes! We asked the bartender what that was and she just said our resident ghost does that often...and we weren't just seeing things....."
