Michigan is no stranger to competition.
When it comes to sports the Detroit Lions made it to the NFC Championship this season, the Wolverines won the Football National Championship, and the Red Wings are in the hunt for the playoffs.
Michigan is also competitive when it comes to its beer.
Grand Rapids was once again named Beer City USA in 2024.
There's a new completion coming to Michigan for the 1st time ever and they need your help judging.
New Weed Competition Coming To Michigan Needs Your Help Judging
Best in Grass, a national cannabis judging competition and product feedback platform, is kicking of its first statewide competition in Michigan starting on Saturday, April 6th.
The competition will feature 60 brands, 200+ product entries, and 330,000 grams of cannabis including flower.
2,600 Michiganders will have the chance to discover and judge a variety of locally-grown cannabis products across 14 different recreational categories

- Best Hybrid Flower
- Best Infused Flower Moon Rocks
- Best Pre-rolls
- Best Solvent Infused Pre-rolls
- Best Non-solvent Infused Pre-rolls
- Best Rosin Vape Pens & Cartridges
- Best Non-rosin Vape Pens & Cartridges
- Best Solvent Concentrates
- Best Non-solvent Concentrates
- Best Gummy Edibles
- Best Non-gummy Edibles
- Best Syrups and Beverages

How You Can Become A Judge For Best In Grass
If you would like to be one of 2,600 judges it will cost you between $75-$280 depending on the category you would like to judge.
Judges will have until May 19 to submit detailed reports on the following.
- aesthetics
- aroma
- taste
- effects of each product
Winners for the completion will be announced on June 18 during a live, in-person award celebration.
