AT&T Nationwide Outage

This isn't just some local outage, either. According to Downdetector, a site that monitors downtimes to services such as the internet, social media, and websites, outages are being reported all around the country, ranging from Houston to Chicago, San Francisco to Atlanta.

AT&T seems to be the service provider that is down the most, with 66,000 AT&T users reporting issues on Downdetector. There are reports of Verizon and T-Mobile users also having connection issues, however, these reports are far less than what AT&T users are reporting.

The outages appear to have started around 3:30 am ET. AT&T made a statement to CNBC:

Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning...We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.

CNN reports that AT&T users have been having issues contacting 911 all week, with  San Francisco's Department of Emergency Management taking to X to suggest "people call from a landline or find someone with a rival's service to dial 911", which is rather ironic considering AT&T has recently introduced a waiver to stop providing service to landlines in California.

If you're experiencing connection issues, we recommend connecting to Wifi not hosted by AT&T if you're able. If you're bored without your phone, try these puzzles below to pass the time.
