The owners of La Huasteca, the Oliveros family, had expected to continue on at their current location at 1811 Plainfield Ave NE. In a post to Facebook, the Oliveros shared that their landlord has decided to not renew their lease and has told them they must move out by May 1, 2024.

Salvador Oliveros tells WZZM-13 that they received the termination of the lease letter from their landlord on March 28. The only information Salvador has received is that the landlord is going to sell the building.

That said, the Oliveros are hoping to be able to move to a new location. They have asked the community to let them know of any restaurant space available.

A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up for the family to help them open a new restaurant. At the time of this post, more than $1,400 has been raised toward the goal of $5,000.

The closure of the restaurant and potential relocation follows the death of the family's 9-year-old son, Iker, last year, who unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.
