We all love pizza for different reasons, most adults and parents love it because it is an easy lunch or dinner meal that doesn't take much effort as you can just call and order, pick it up, or pop a frozen one into the oven. I mean pizza is as basic as it gets for a meal that can make the entire family full and happy. It's just bread, sauce, cheese, and sometimes meat or veggies. As far as kids, they just like pizza because it tastes good, and they get to eat it often.

The thing about pizza is that simplicity causes so many different styles to be created. There are Sicilian, thin crust, rising crust, deep dish, and many other types of pizza out there, which also means there are lots of chain restaurants sprinkling their flavor over the country. Pizza night is a prominent dinner plan for families all over the country but unfortunately for those in Ohio, they are most likely purchasing the worst pizza in America as 5 of the worst pizza chains are in Ohio.

The cool thing about pizza spots is that no matter what city or state you are living in, there is bound to be at least one if not multiple mom-and-pop or family pizza shops in the city. Those are the gems that we all hold close to our hearts but as much as we try to avoid it, we all eat from some of the pizza chains out there, these 5 below are the worst in not only Ohio but all across the country.

#5 Pizza Hut

I can't believe that Pizza Hut is on this list, this is one of my personal favorites. Honestly, this is my go-to chain pizza place that hits the spot every time. The old-school buffet with the dessert pizzas and the nostalgic feeling of the dining room might be what keeps me locked in. Either way, most people don't think it has the same magic it used to.

#4 Papa John's

Lowkey, I understand why Papa John's is on this list, although they do have some good qualities. First off, that garlic butter sauce they put in every box is a HIT but also if you haven't had their brookie yet, you're missing out. Now that the good is out of the way, Papa John's is a little on the expensive side and many feel the quality doesn't match up to the price.

#3 Domino's

I kind of agree with Domino's being here on this list, I was never much of a Domino's fan but that was mainly due to my allegiance to Pizza Hut. Then I went off to school and we had a deal with Domino's to have discounted food and that changed my mind. The quality didn't get any better but discounted/free food always tastes a little better.

#2 Little Caesars

This is another one of those chains that blows my mind being on the list, especially at number 2. I have always been a huge fan of Little Caesars but can agree that the hike in price on the $5 Hot-N-Ready pizzas is a crime. I think the cheap deals that they started with when first gaining popularity have labeled them as a budget pizza brand.

Lastly, #1 Chuck E. Cheese

I am absolutely furious about this because honestly, this is probably the best pizza on the planet. Chuck E. Cheese has been providing fun, pizza, breadsticks, and wings for families, birthday parties, and get-togethers for years. Yes, we have always heard the rumor of them using old slices of pizza to make new pizzas but I'm not sure that it's true. Either way, it may be a nostalgic thing for me as I grew up going to Chuck E. Cheese multiple times a year, and that pepperoni and bacon pizza hit the spot every time.

Here are all the Chuck E. Cheese locations in Ohio:

5077 Monroe St, Toledo, OH 43623

5455 Airport Hwy Ste 9-I, Toledo, OH 43615

3886 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43230

Top 5 Worst Pizza Places

24/7 Wall St. referred to pizza reviews from five distinct food blogs and websites. Given the subjective nature of pizza preferences, their selection criteria focused on pizza chains consistently ranked at the lower end on multiple platforms.

Reviewers exhibited diverse opinions in discussions about pizza.
Agreement on the best pizza chains was scarce, with only a handful receiving high praise from individual reviewers, such as Mellow Mushroom, Jet’s, California Pizza Kitchen, and MOD.

Chains with mixed reviews included Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Donato’s, and Marco’s. While individual reviewers held differing perspectives on these chains, the overall evaluation resulted in fairly average scores.

In contrast, there was notable alignment in identifying the worst pizza chains. These five establishments garnered attention in 24/7 Wall St. survey for consistently low rankings across the board.
