College basketball is turning the corner for the season. Currently MSU is 6th in the Big Ten with a record of 18-7 overall. They were ranked 19th in the AP rankings, but that will change after their loss to Penn State this week.

They can rebound tomorrow with a victory over Illinois at the Breslin Center. That game is a noon tip sharp!

MSU started the season solid then the ups and downs began. Tom Izzo’s team has some issues they have to clear up if they're going to make a move in the NCAA tournament. They seem to be fixable problems, but I just don’t know. This team lacks a leader or leaders period. It seemed to be a solid defensive team, but that is questionable at this point in time.

The largest problem is that they're a soft team as we speak. Meaning they lack toughness and consistent scoring. Tom Izzo has to be totally frustrated with the regression of his team. They haven’t had a true leader since Cassius Winston and Tillman.

Can this team beat Illinois tomorrow? I believe they can. This is Tom Izzo’s time of the year. Because March is coming up and that’s his month. Can he and his staff get this team turned around? The Breslin Center will be electric and hopefully controlled chaos tomorrow.

This is an enormous game for Izzo’s team to turn around this team that is spiraling downward.
