University of Michigan senior second baseman Sierra Romero was named as USA Softball's National Player of the Year on Tuesday.

Romero is the three-time Big Ten Player of the Year, including in 2016.  She had led the Wolverines to the Women's College World Series (WCWS) in three of her four seasons in Ann Arbor.

Her lady Wolverines will play LSU on Thursday night in the opening game in the WCWS in Oklahoma City.
