The Detroit Tigers have lost starting right fielder J.D. Martinez for 4-6 weeks due to an elbow injury suffered in Thursday night's victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Martinez ran into a wall in foul territory while chasing after a fly ball in the second inning of the contest.  The impact caused the fracture to his right elbow.

After the 10-4 win, the team called up outfielder Steven Moya to replace Martinez on the 25-man roster.  The Tigers enter play on Friday 1 1/2 games behind Cleveland in the American League Central.
