ICYMI: Former MSU AD Hollis Joins Detroit Sports Commission
The Detroit Sports Commission named former Michigan State Athletic Director Mark Hollis (pictured above) as the new chairman of the Detroit Sports Organizing Corp. on Wednesday morning.
He'll be tasked with bringing big-time sporting events to the Detroit-area and the state of Michigan. He has worked with the Rocket Mortgage Classic golf tournament and is currently the vice-president for business development for Rock Venture.

Hollis was the athletic director at Michigan State University for a decade before retiring in early 2018. He replaced former hockey head coach Ron Mason in that role in 2008. He had worked in the MSU athletic department since the mid-1990's.
He also served as the Chairman for the NCAA Men's Basketball Committee in the 2016-17 academic year.
