Former Lansing Sexton, Michigan State basketball great, and current Chicago Bulls guard Denzel Valentine (pictured) is likely gone for the rest of the season due to ongoing ankle problems.

The Chicago Tribune is among other media outlets reporting that Valentine will undergo reconstructive surgery on his left ankle that will keep him out of action for 4-6 months.

Valentine is signed with the Bulls through the 2019-20 season.  He can be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2020.  Because of the injury, he has not played at all so far this season.

He has averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds in his first two seasons in the NBA.  The Bulls are off to a slow start, they're 4-13 through November 19th.
