The Lansing Lugnuts announced on Tuesday morning that Detroit Tigers great Willie Horton and former legendary Eastern Michigan University coach Ron Oestrike will be the new inductees into the Michigan Baseball Hall of Fame.

After a stellar high school career at Detroit Northwestern HS, Horton joined the Detroit Tigers and was a key member of the 1968 World Championship team. He played over 2,000 career MLB, most of them with his hometown Tigers.

Oestrike coached the then-Hurons to a second-place finish at the College World Series in 1976, and also coached them to an NAIA title in 1970.

This year's ceremonies will be on Saturday, August 17th at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing. It will precede the Lugnuts game against the Dayton Dragons.
