Holt ends long drought, snaps 6-game losing streak
The Holt Rams had not won in 2018. In fact, they hadn't tasted victory since December 15th. Well before even Christmas. But that changed Tuesday night in Haslett, as the Rams (5-6; 2-5 CAAC Blue) ended a 6-game losing, defeating the Vikings 59-52. A big second half, a *few* key free throws and some great defense helped seal the win. Haslett (7-4; 5-0 CAAC Red) led 12-9 after the first quarter, and held that 3-point lead at the half (23-20). The Vikings looked fluid on offense and were dominating on the boards. But something happened at halftime, and slowly but surely, Holt kept the game close. Troy Jordan and the Rams kept finding holes in the Vikings 3-2 zone. And big shots from Max Darling and DeAndre Whetstone helped Holt wrestle the lead away, keeping it for good. Haslett made some valiant attempts in the 4th quarter, with Blake Lampman trying to bring them back. But the Rams made just enough plays (and some FT's) in the end. Jordan led all scorers with 23 points & 6 rebounds. Sam Laczynski & Lampman both scored 12 points each for the Vikings.
