Jim Brown (pictured), who played running back for the Cleveland Browns for nine seasons (1957-1965), is still generally regarded as the greatest running back in NFL history.  His 12,312 yards rushing stood until 1984 when the late, great Walter Payton broke it in 1984.  You can sum up his career in a group of numbers:

12,312 - The yards gained rushing during his NFL career

126 - The number of touchdowns scored in 118 career games.

32 - The number he wore during his NFL career.

29 - The age he was when he retired in 1965.

8 - The number of rushing titles he won in his nine years in the NFL.

5.2 - Jim's yards per carry average in his career (still amongst the best in NFL history).

2 - The number of NFL Most Valuable Player awards he won.

1 - The number of NFL titles he won.

0 - The number of games he missed as a pro.

Happy 85th Birthday, Jim!!!!

As for Michael Jordan (pictured), he turns 58 today.  And (unless you're a millennial), he is generally regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time.  Here are some of his accomplishments in basketball:

He hit the game-winning shot as a freshman at North Carolina to help the Tar Heels win the National title in 1982 over Georgetown.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1984, and 1992).

Five-time NBA MVP (trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 6 MVP's).

Led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA titles in six trips to the NBA Finals.

Has become a team owner with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets.

Happy Birthday to these all-time greats!!!!
