The Grand Ledge Comet baseball team continued their dominance in the Dean Shippey Capital Diamond Classic, winning the prestigious tournament for a record 25th time on Tuesday night over St. Johns 4-1 at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Comet senior pitcher Tyler Waldrop struck out 14 Red Wing batters in a complete game victory on his way to being named tournament MVP.

Both Grand Ledge and St. Johns seasons are over, they've been eliminated in the state tournament.  Grand Ledge ends the year 31-6-1, St. Johns finishes up 23-12
