Grand Ledge Comets Football Preview 2018

Veteran coach Matt Bird has fewer players to choose from this season, with 48 kids on the varsity squad.

They also lose 38 seniors from a CAAC Blue championship team.  So, this group should be younger than previous teams.

Bird is high on junior Kavion Autry and senior Javal Lewis (who's playing football as well as basketball this year.

The Comets have a unique schedule with no game in Week 2, and playing state power Birmingham Brother Rice at home in Week 6.  The Brother Rice game is a great primer for Week 7's home tilt with DeWitt, which could decide that Blue championship.
