Glimmer of Hope: MLB Potentially Playing Regular Season in Arizona
Major League Baseball is discussing a potential plan to start the regular season and playing games in Arizona.
ESPN's Jeff Passan is reporting that MLB and the MLBPA are working towards getting players into training camps by May and starting the regular season in Arizona. The plan would see all 30 MLB teams playing games around the Phoenix area in front of no crowds.
Passan states in the article that players would be held in a hotel and would only travel to the stadiums to play the games.
While all of this would get baseball potentially back in May or June, there are a lot of other hurdles to overcome including TV deals, revenue, and more.
Maybe though, just maybe, this can be a little glimmer of hope that we could get some live sports back and have them conducted in a safe environment.
