Before being drafted by the Detroit Tigers organization, Casey Mize spent three seasons with the Auburn Tigers.

In Auburn, right-hander Mize pitched in 46 games, starting in 36.

Of those 36 starts, Mize logged 20 wins, including a no-hitter against Northeastern in 10 wins so far in the 2018 season.

Currently, Auburn is one win away from advancing out of the NCAA Super Regionals. Auburn is tied with current College World Series champion Florida in chase of another title.

This past week, the Detroit organization selected Mize with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.

Mize's pick marks another year in which the Tigers select a college pitching stand out with their top selection. Last year, the Tigers chose Alex Faedo from Florida with their 18th overall pick.

Unlike Faedo, Mize was undrafted out of high school, causing comparisons between himself and Stephen Strasberg, who also went undrafted in high school only to be selected first overall out of college.
