The Lansing State Journal is reporting that former Michigan State women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages was charged with two counts of lying to a peace officer in regards to the Larry Nassar sexual assault case.

Klages retired in February of 2017, one day after she was suspended by the school after a former athlete said that coach Klages discouraged her from reporting Nassar to authorities.

Klages was charged in 54-A District Court in Ingham County on Thursday on one felony and one misdemeanor count of lying.  She could get fined and/or serve jail time.
