The phrase "there is no offseason in professional sports" is so true. The NFL and other major sports leagues are always evaluating talent and looking towards the future.

Tonight the spotlight is on the NFL draft in Nashville, Tennessee and the future superstars of the league. Many of the players that will be drafted have been working toward this day for years and starting tonight all the hard work and dedication will have paid off. For some, in a very large way. Cha-Ching.

The first round of the 2019 NFL draft airs tonight starting at 8 P.M. ABC, ESPN along with the NFL Network will carry the draft throughout the weekend. Rounds 2-3 will kick off Friday night starting at 7 and rounds 4-7 will begin Saturday at noon.

The number one overall pick this year goes to the Arizona Cardinals, while the Detroit Lions will pick 8th following their rough 6-10 season. There have been a lot of talks that the Lions will trade down to get an impact defensive player early in the draft. But still, with the 8th overall selection, an important piece will be added to the Lions roster. Just as long as they don't draft a Tight End in the first round... AGAIN.
