1. The Michigan State women's team got there NCAA draw last night.  They will be the five-seed in the Stanford regional, and play Hampton Sunday at 12:30.  If they can get by Hampton, they would face the winner of North Carolina and UT-Martin.  This will be the sixth straight season that the Lady Spartans are in the tournament.

2. The boys basketball quarterfinals are tonight, and we only have one local team who is still alive.  Pewamo-Westphalia will put its 21-2 record on the line against Flint Beecher at 7 o'clock.  We will have the game on our airwaves, pregame coverage starts at 6:45.

3.  The Red Wings play the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at the Joe.  As Ansar Khan pointed out at mlive.com, the Wings are 6-0-2 in their last eight home games.  Detroit's offense has sputtered lately, scoring just three goals in their last four games.  They are 3 points out of the final playoff spot, with two games in hand against the New York Rangers.  The Rangers play Ottawa tonight.

4. The Tigers have issues at shortstop.  Espn.com says that Jose Iglesias will miss most of the season due to stress fractures in both of his shins.  The Tigers could look to replace him in house, but I think there is a good chance they go outside of the organization.  Nick Franklin of the Mariners would seem to make senseJohn Paul Morosi of foxsports.com tweeted that the Tigers inquired about D-Backs infielder Chris Owings.  Stay tuned.

5. In an incredible feat, the Philadelphia 76ers have now lost 21 straight games.  That is an impressive level of tanking as a loaded draft class awaits.
