1. USA Falls Against Belgium:

Yesterday afternoon the United States fell to Belgium ending their run in the 2014 World Cup.  The game ended in regulation at 0-0 with Belgium getting the majority of opportunities.  In extra time, Belgium scored two goals in the first half of extra time and the USA scored one goal in the second half of extra time.  Goalie Tim Howard ended with 16 saves, a world cup record for a goalie in the last 50 years.  Belgium will play Argentina in on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

2. Porcello Shines As Tigers Win:

Rick Porcello pitched his 2nd straight complete game shutout as the Tigers beat the A's 3-0 for his 11th win of the year.  Porcello is the 1st Tigers pitcher to throw back-to-back shutouts since Jack Morris did it in July of 1986.  J.D. Martinez hit his 10th home run of the year.  The Tigers are now looking to sweep the A's today before a 4 game series against the Tampa Bay Rays starting tomorrow.  First pitch is at 1:08 today at Comerica Park.

3. Kyrie Irving Gets Max Contract Extension

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Kyrie Irving to a max contract extension.  Irving is entering his fourth season with the Cavaliers.  The 22 year old point guard was named rookie of the year and was named to the All-Star team, winning the MVP this past all-star game this past February.

4. Rafael Nadal Losses To Teen

In Wimbledon action yesterday Rafael Nadal falls victim to Nick Kyrgios, 19 year old Australian in the 4th round. Kyrgios won in four set 7-6, 5-7, 7-6, 6-3.  The highlight of the match was when Kyrgios hit a shot between his legs.  Coverage continues today at 7:00 AM on ESPN and ESPN2.

5. Jodie Meeks Comes To Pistons

Jodie Meeks has agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons as free agency begins yesterday.  The deal is worth around $20 Million over three-years.  Meeks, 26, had a great season last year with the LA Lakers averaging 15.7 points and was a sharp shooter from 3 point range making 40% last season.  Detroit ranked in the bottom of the league in that category last season.
