Final Lansing Area H.S. Football Top 10 Poll
The high school football season is now complete for 2024. And congratulations to Lansing Catholic and Morrice for making it all the way to the state finals. Catholic did so in Division 6, and Morrice made it in 8-Player, Division 2.
Four other teams (East Lansing, DeWitt, Mason, and Fowler) made it to the semifinal stages of their tournaments before falling.
East Lansing's Jace Clarizio, DeWitt's Elliot and Abram Larner, Mason's Cason Carswell, Lansing Catholic's Alex Fernandez, Leslie's Joel Cranmore, and Fowler's Jacob Halfmann and Ford Phillips all had great seasons for their respective schools. As did Haslett star Korey Amachree.
If you want to have an area player of the year, it has to be DeWitt senior QB Elliott Larner. He had over 2,000 yards passing, and almost 2,000 yards rushing for the Panthers.
If there is an area coach of the year, it's got to be Leslie's Tim McCann. He led the Blackhawks to their best season in years, winning the Cascades Conference in only their second year in the league. And they won a district title in Division 7 before losing to eventual state runner-up Monroe St. Mary CC in the regionals.
It was another exciting season in high school football. It's now on to basketball season. The first boys and girls top 10 poll will be revealed right before the Christmas break. And then it will be updated weekly starting in January until the season ends in March.
And the first episode of High School Rewind is this coming Saturday morning from 10a-11a. It's the weekly show that recaps the week that was in high school boys and girls basketball.
Ok, on with the final top 10 poll for the high school football season:
