Everett Knocks Off Ann Arbor Huron to Advance to Regional Final
The Everett Vikings advanced to the Class A Regional Finals with an exciting 82-77 victory over Ann Arbor Huron on Monday night at Holt High School.
The Vikings were led by Mr. Basketball finalist Trevor Manuel, who led all scorers with 33 points. The 6-9 senior added 17 rebounds, 6 blocked shots, 5 assists, and two steals.
Everett also got 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists from Jamyrin Jackson. Everett shot an excellent 55% from the floor, while getting 22 assists on 33 baskets.
Jalen Thompson and Xavier Cochran each had 20 points to lead the River Rats, who finish at 20-3 on the season.
Everett is now 22-2 and move on to Wednesday's regional final against Kalamazoo Central. The Maroon Giants beat Everett at the Don Jackson Holiday Invitational 60-54 in December.
