ESPN recently ranked the teams prospects in the NHL and the Red Wings land in the middle of the 31 teams.

According to The Detroit News, the Red Wings prospects are ranked 15th out of 31 teams. The New York Rangers were the top of the rankings.

Featured as the top prospects for the Red Wings are Filip Zadina, Joe Veleno, and Moritz Seider.  ESPN also list Taro Hirose as a great pick up. He was an undrafted free agent from Michigan State.

All four players were apart of the recent prospect tournament in Traverse City.  All four players contributed in the four games that saw the Red Wings win the tournament.

Zadina and Veleno were drafted last year.   Seider was the first round pick this year back in June.  Taro Hirose joined the Red Wings late last season to play in 10 games.

Out of the four players Hirose probably has the best chance currently to make it to Detroit.  It wouldn't be a shock if any of the four are in Detroit this upcoming season.

The team still has some work to do but the future is looking up for the Red Wings.
