By now, you've heard the heartbreaking story of Eastwood, a dog with special needs, who was the only dog not adopted from Little Traverse Bay Humane Society during last weekend's "Empty The Shelters" campaign, where all adoption fees were covered by Bissell Pet Foundation. Eastwood was born with a genetic disorder that affects his hind legs, and is partially blind. It will cost more than $4,000 in medical costs to alleviate Eastwood's issues. That scared all of the adopters away.

Once Eastwood's story went viral Monday morning, the public support outpoured  for the 1-year-old lab. And, it didn't take long to find Eastwood a forever home. Now we know who the gracious, and lucky soul is. It's Detroit Pistons Coach Stan Van Gundy and his family.

According to a press release from Bissell Pet Foundation, Van Gundy's 17-year-old daughter let her disappointment about missing the "Empty The Shelters" event, that found homes for 2,500 pets. When Eastwood's story hit the news, the family jumped all over the opportunity to give him a new "leash" on life.

Van Gundy and his wife Kim have four children altogether. Needless to say, it looks like Eastwood will never be short changed on love ever again.
