East Lansing High School senior forward Brandon Johns has been named as a finalist for the Hal Schram Mr. Basketball Award, the Detroit Free Press announced on Wednesday.

Johns is averaging nearly 30 points a game for the Trojans this season, and crossed the 1,500 career point plateau earlier this winter.  East Lansing is 16-3 this season and finished 2nd in the CAAC Blue this year.

The future Michigan Wolverine (signed with U-M last fall) has led the Trojans to two straight CAAC Blue titles (2016 and 2017) as well as two straight Class A district titles.  East Lansing has also had a 46 game regular season winning streak during Johns tenure in E.L.

The other four finalists feature fellow Michigan commit David DeJulius of Detroit East English Village.  Future Michigan State Spartans Foster Loyer of Clarkston and Marcus Bingham, Jr., as well as Purdue commit Trevion Williams of Detroit Henry Ford.
