The Lansing State Journal is reporting that East Lansing High School's eighth-year head basketball coach Steve Finamore has been suspended for Friday's night CAAC Blue title game against Okemos.

The Journal reports that Finamore's suspension stems from an incident between him and a parent of an E.L. player after East Lansing's victory over Lansing Eastern on Tuesday night. Here's more from the LSJ story:

Finamore said he had been on his best behavior with parents and officials and hadn't received a technical during his time leading the Trojans. He said the argument Tuesday was a result of being challenged by a parent and trying to defend himself.

Finamore learned of his suspension Wednesday afternoon when he reported to practice.

"(Hunt) told me I was out of line on Tuesday night," Finamore said. "He said it twice.

"He didn't give me a chance to appeal. He didn't give me a chance to say anything."

Finamore's Trojans are 11-2 in CAAC Blue play, 15-2 overall.  Okemos, their opponents on Friday, is 14-4 overall to go with their 11-2 league record.
