Draymond Green received a maximum contract for his seniority and position from the Golden State Warriors, five years $82 million.

He's also coming off an NBA championship over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On Thursday he gave a bit back to his roots. The Saginaw native and Michigan State alum donated a record $3.1 million to Michigan State University's Athletic Department. The intent is for the re-naming of the strength and conditioning center.

Green is quoted in an mLive report: "I miss this place," Green said. "It's so great, and I'm thankful to be a Spartan."

Also from the mLive report: "Pending Board of Trustee approval, Michigan State's Breslin Center weight room will be renamed The Draymond Green Strength and Conditioning Center."

Personally I thought just "Green Strength and Conditioning Center" would be appropriate to fit the color mantra, but then again I'm not the one donating millions of dollars. Regardless of the name it's a great day for Spartans new and old seeing one of their favorite sons give back to the university that helped them get to where they are.
