Last night, the MSU hoops team proved when they are all together they can be very tough.

The Delaware Blue Hens found that out firsthand.

MSU beat Delaware 93-78 behind 41 points from Adreian Payne, who was 17 for 17 at the foul stripe, an NCAA tournament record.

Funny thing is when you've been on the air as long as me, expect the unexpected. Yesterday on Mad Dog in the Morning, we got a call from an on-air personality in Delaware. This young man was brash, cocky, and out to start an argument on the air about the game.

First of all, no way MSU was going to lose to Delaware. And second, I wasn't going to take the bait and argue with this cat over the game.

So this on-air talent's name is Spencer Graves. He did his research in finding the "Mad Dog"-- he just didn't do his research on the game at hand.

So he says let's put a friendly wager on game. I said fine, what would that be? Graves said a case of beer brewed in Delaware should the Blue Hens lose, and if MSU loses a case of beer brewed in Michigan. I knew this would be like taking candy from a baby.

Thus, State blows Delaware out, and Spencer calls my show this morning to concede. Now, we will be looking for a case of Dogfish Head in the mail!

Thank you, Spencer!
