One of the stories of the COVID-19 pandemic that doesn't get talked about very much, is the strange situation this has put people who were dating, but having to cross the U.S./Canada border to see each other. That's become much more difficult these days.

According to the CBC, the Canadian border to the U.S. has been closed since March and probably won't open again totally until 2021. However, "immediate family, including spouses and common-law partners, are allowed to pass through as long as they quarantine for 14 days when they return home". But that does NOT include people who are dating. One examples used are Ashley from Windsor, Ontario and her boyfriend Tom, from Petoskey. He can visit her, but he's running out of the vacation he has to use for quarantining every time. And they're about to have a baby.

One of the couples in the story is taking care of the situation by flying to Vegas this weekend to get married. A bold move. I hope it works out.
